Terms of use
Plain terms for a plain-spoken site.
These terms govern use of this website, operated by Seat & Signal™ (Seat & Signal LLC, a Connecticut limited liability company). Engagements themselves are governed by signed agreements, not by website copy.
The short version.
- Informational only. Content on this site and in THE SIGNAL™ is general information, not legal, business, financial, or technical advice. Decisions about your company, clients, or compliance obligations should be made with qualified professionals who know your situation.
- Agreements govern. Nothing on this site creates an engagement, a guarantee, or a client or membership relationship; the specific terms of every engagement live in the agreement the parties sign.
- No employment relationship. Seat & Signal provides curated introductions on an employer-paid-fee basis; it is not a staffing agency, employer of record, or professional employer organization, and is not a party to engagements between clients and executives. Members of The Collective are independent executives — they are not employees, contractors, or agents of Seat & Signal™ in any way, shape, or form.
- Intellectual property. The Seat & Signal name, mark, and site content are the property of Seat & Signal LLC or its licensors. Please don't reproduce them without permission.
- Permitted use. Use this site for lawful, personal, and business-evaluation purposes. Don't misuse the forms, scrape member information, or misrepresent who you are.
- Third-party services. This site and our operations rely on tools and platforms operated by independent companies — including scheduling, email, newsletter, and matching-support services — each governed by its own terms and privacy policy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Seat & Signal is not liable for the acts, omissions, availability, or security incidents of third-party providers.
- AI-assistance disclosure. Portions of our research and drafting are developed with AI assistance; everything published is reviewed, edited, and fact-checked by a human, and responsibility for what's published is ours alone.
